What Tagmount is

Tagmount is a small, curated platform for premium self-guided tours. Hiking, mountaineering, city walks, and ski-touring — routes where the value of a local expert is the reason the day is good, but where the practical choice is to travel on your own clock, at your own pace, not in a booked group.

We publish the work a great guide would do before a trip — route-finding, pacing, safety calls, local shortcuts and detours — and we put it in your pocket for the day. We don't put a guide in the field with you. We put hours of their notes in your hand.

How we're different

Most tour platforms compete on inventory. We compete on curation.

  • Every tour is walked by its Tour Author multiple times, in different seasons, before it goes live.
  • Every tour is written up as an hour-by-hour Tour Handbook with named decision points, shelter coordinates, and the specific failure modes your guide would warn you about in person.
  • Every safety detail is plain-language and specific — no generic "be careful in the mountains". We name the ridge, the timing, the weather signature.
  • Tour Authors earn a direct share of each purchase. They're paid to maintain their tours, not to produce new ones every week.

We charge a platform fee on each booking. We do not sell ads, do not upsell insurance, and do not resell your data.

Who runs this

Tagmount was started by a team of hikers and product engineers who wanted the preparation experience to match the quality of the trips they'd had with the best guides they'd met. The name comes from "tagging" the peak — the small satisfaction of the summit register entry at the top of a long day.
