Sarajevo is rare among European capitals: you can be on a real mountain trail half an hour after coffee in the old town, and back in time for dinner in Baščaršija. The peaks around the city — Trebević, Bjelašnica, Igman — frame a walking culture that survived the siege and shows up today in well-marked trails, mountain shelters still serving warm food, and a generation of Sarajevans who treat a Sunday hike the way other Europeans treat a long lunch.
Tours in this region are designed around that rhythm. They start from places you can reach by tram, taxi, or a short shared-van ride, and they end somewhere you can sit down with a coffee and a view back over the city.
